Interstate 476 (I-476) is a spur of I-76, originating at I-80 and Delaware Route 41 just north of Gerard Ferry, and travels south to Masonsville. Unlike most spurs and even digit auxiliary routes in real life, I-476 does not end or start at I-76, though they do cross over and have connections to both sides of the freeway which could be the reason why it has an even number. It is one of two auxiliary highways in the UDU and of I-76 (in the UDU), the other being I-976 located in UD: Westover Islands. In the Newark overhaul the route will become more rural since it will be west of the city.

Overview[]

In Newark, I-476 runs straight through downtown and is to curve westward out of the city near the south end, then back in at the north of the city as part of the Newark Overhaul. However, this highway still remains as the only urban freeway that is playable in the UDU, until the revamp releases. I-476 runs through downtown Newark between the two directions of Delaware Route 896. The highway also crosses the Indian River through the fixed-spawn Gerard Bridge, north of Newark's city limits. Gerard Bridge is likely to be incorporated into UD: Delancy Gorge during the Newark Overhaul. Before UD: Newark was shut down, the freeway had 6 lanes in urban areas and 4 lanes in most rural areas.

The northern section opened to the public on December 16, 2016, as part of the new UD: Delancy Gorge map (north of US 322). However, the majority of the route still runs in UD: Newark as the rest of the highway, in Masonsville, was never released after stopping development. The road terminates at Delaware Route 41 just south of the Shaffer Valley at a traffic signal. However, there is an on-ramp to I-80 eastbound. Before the closure of UD: Newark, the speed limit was 70 mph in rural areas and was 65 mph in urban areas and south of Newark. In UD: Delancy Gorge, the speed limit is always 70 mph, with an exception of near the end of the freeway. At the northern terminus, the speed limit is 55 mph on northbound I-476 and 65 mph southbound. The speed limit will likely be slightly higher around Newark when the revamp comes out due to the highway going around the city and not right through it. Before smooth terrain was planned to be added to the map, the speed limit in this section was planned to be 70 mph. In the revamp, the highway is expected to go south into Maryland and may have a slightly different speed limit once it reaches Maryland due to it being a different state. It will most likely go through the rural areas of Maryland in the game with the more suburban/urban areas of the highway likely being just south of the game. Before the overhaul, the freeway had 6 lanes in urban areas and south of Newark and 4 lanes in most rural areas of the highway.
