Overview[]
Moving bridges, also known as drawbridges, are bridges that can be raised and lowered or rotated. These types of bridges can only be controlled by highway workers. Since there are no boats in the UDU aside from nonfunctional boats in Currituck and Kensington, the purpose of the moving bridges is purely for aesthetics, roleplay, and fun.
Moving bridges are operated by interacting with control panels near each bridge. The building that houses the control panel also typically display's the bridge's progress and cooldown, as well as the option to manually lower the bridge to override the timer. These bridges are also controlled by traffic signals and barriers.
Moving bridges are available in UD: Westover Islands, UD: Currituck, and UD: Newark.

Tips[]
- When approaching traffic signals ahead of a movable bridge displaying a red light, you must come to a complete stop behind the stop line as the bridge is either opening or closing. A gate will also be lowered on both sides to prevent vehicles from driving onto the bridge while it is in operation.
- Do not stop or park once you are on a movable bridge. Should it be opened while a vehicle is on it, it will likely glitch or fall off.
- Should your vehicle break down or run out of fuel/charge on a movable bridge, abandon it, delete the vehicle or have it towed by a DOT worker (if possible).

Trivia[]
- Currituck has the most Drawbridges in the entire UD Series Being 2.
- Some moving bridges have status indicator signs on nearby major roads to advise motorists if the bridge is being opened. In-game, only the Kirkwood Lift Bridge (which connects two major roads) has such signage on DE 896 and DE 26 respectively.
