Overview[]

The 2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI (Mk5) is a German hatchback car in the Ultimate Driving Universe. It can be bought for Credits 68,190 and replaced the original Golf on January 2018 Mesh Update. It is known as the 2006 Kohlenstoff Croquet GT in-game.

History[]

The 2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI is based on the 3-door model of the Mk. V Volkswagen Golf GTI, which was produced from 2004-2008. It is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine and generates 200 PS (197 hp) and a 0-60 time of 6.7 seconds. It can only hold up to 4 people and is noticeably more expensive than it was before, although players who purchased the earlier Golf would keep the new one, and its revenue was increased to $359 accordingly as well. As of the August 2018 Racing Update, revenue increased by $200 alongside most vehicles, bringing it up to $559.

As of the 2017 customization update, all versions of this vehicle can be painted and modified.

Trivia[]

  • When mesh car models were first introduced in early 2018, it was possible to purchase the Golf for a cheaper price in un-updated games that still used brick cars, such as UD: Newark. This could have also be done with the 1965 Ford Mustang and 2006 Porsche 911 GT3, up until the closing of said games to the public.
  • Throughout early 2018, the Golf had a rear-wheel drive (RWD) drivetrain as opposed to a FWD one. This has subsequently been patched.
  • The Volkswagen Golf was first introduced in 1974, with the GTI following in 1976. The first generation GTI is often considered as the forefather of the "hot hatch" archetype of cars, consisting of performance-oriented trims of mass-produced hatchbacks.
