The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Popemobile was added on 11 April 2020 and can be bought for $100,000. The car is known as the 2017 Durant Montana Dually PopeMobile in-game its unobtainable as of an unknown date.
This vehicle is based on the Popemobile used in Vatican City and abroad, by using the truck bed as a VIP seating area with two more seats, increasing the total capacity to 6. Intended for VIP players who may want to be seen, it also serves an additional roleplay purpose for people wanting to simulate Papal trips to the various cities and towns. However, the rear compartment is open sided although it has a roof.
Even though TwentyTwoPilots states that this vehicle is a more American way to greet fans, it allows for people to get close without the VIP having to leave the vehicle.
For those wondering what a popemobile is, it is a custom vehicle used to carry the Pope (head of the Catholic Church) around Vatican City to greet his followers when they congregate in large crowds. Often, these vehicles are modified trucks, with the cargo area converted to carry passengers. They can also be based off SUVs or smaller vehicles, with an enclosed room or an open top replacing the back of the vehicle.
