Overview[]
The Ford F-150 Utility Truck is a service vehicle for the Highway Worker/DOT Team. It is the DOT variant of the Dearborn D400. It is known as the 2008 Dearborn D400 (DOT) in-game.
The vehicle comes in two variants: the Arrow Truck and the Salter. These are fundamentally the same vehicle, the only difference being the equipment installed in the bed of the truck.
Arrow Truck[]
The Arrow Truck carries a large sign with a combined left and right arrow on it. The arrow's display can be toggled by the driver through the lighting UI. The bed of the Arrow Truck has a toolbox and some inaccessible cones.
The available patterns are:
- Horizontal line, denoting a fully-closed area
- Left arrow, denoting a closed area with a left-hand lane change or detour
- Right arrow, denoting a closed area with a right-hand lane change or detour
- Double arrow, denoting a closed area that traffic should go around, provided there is enough space to do so
Salter[]
The Salter carries a large container of road salt with a dispenser spout on the rear. This vehicle is meant to be used during snowy weather to melt snow on roads. The salt dispenser, when toggled, releases salt particles onto the road. These salt particles do not affect snow, the road, or gameplay whatsoever.
Vehicle Statistics[]
Note: In this scenario, the vehicle's top speed (in MPH) is multiplied by the quantity of credits/XP per mile.
VIP | Top Speed (In MPH) | Credits/Mile | XP/Mile | Credits/Hour | XP/Hour |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
None | 116 MPH | 500 | 300 | 58,000 | 34,800 |
VIP (x1.3) | 116 MPH | 650 | 390 | 75,400 | 45,240 |
Trivia[]
- In real life, salters take the form of light trucks with snow ploughs up front, and work in groups to clear the snow from the road, carrying their own salt supply or, rarely, working with smaller trucks right behind them to spread the salt on the road. UD does not have a snow plough vehicle of any sort.
